What is 'The wash Process'?

When we talk about the wash process of a vehicle, we're actually taking about the various 'stages' of cleaning a car.
In order to understand what this means, lets take you back for a short history lesson.

Since the mid 90's, car cleaning professionals, or 'Detailers' have surged in popularity. These professionals have changed the way people look at something simple as washing a car, which used to be a bucket and sponge job, and taken it to the next level and beyond.
They not only clean anything and everything on the car, from wheels, tyres, engine bays, to door shuts, interior nooks and crannys, and everything inbetween, but they do so in a safe, calculated, and methodical manner to ensure the absolute best clean possible. Mostly, this kind of clean was necessary in preparing the car for machine polishing the paintwork to remove swirls and scratches for the flawless finish that customers were paying big money to achieve.

As the popularity of these professionals grew, so did our understanding of what a thorough, yet safe wash process looked like. We learned about using specialist wash mitts instead of sponges. We learned about the 'two bucket method', and we learned the science behind what type of cleaning chemicals work best on a particular type of contaminant on the car. For example, we now know that Citrus based products are especially effective at removing fly splats and other dead insects from the paintwork. More on this later.

But mostly, we have learned that this methodical approach to cleaning a car, the different stages and different cleaning chemicals at the right time, produces an almost surgical clean car, that most amatures and newbies can only dream of.
